Page history

Bishop is a 32-bit Acer Aspire One mini-laptop ("netbook") that I (Strypey) bought in 2010. In 2017 I upgraded the RAM and replaced the default hard drive with an SSD.

Current specs:

  • Model: KAV60
  • Memory: 2GB
  • Processor: Intel® Atom™ CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz × 2
  • Graphics: Intel® 945GME x86/MMX/SSE2
  • Disk: 217.2 GB SSD

Original specs:

  • Model: KAV60
  • Memory: 992.3 MiB
  • Processor: Intel® Atom™ CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz × 2
  • Graphics: Intel® 945GME x86/MMX/SSE2
  • Disk: 133.3 GB HDD

Partition Scheme:

Name Type Format Size* Use
sda1 primary ext4 14 GB main OS
sda2 primary linux-swap 2 GB main OS
sda5 extended ext4 16 GB testing OS
sda6 extended ext4 192 GB user files

*rounded up to the nearest GB

Operating System

Bishop was sold as a dual-boot of Windows XP and Android. It has been tested with many variations of free code operating system , but the main day-to-day OS used on it is Trisquel GNU/Linux. First 6.0 ("Touatis") and 7.0 ("Belenos"), mainly with the default GNOME Fallback desktop although other desktops were sometimes used including OpenBox and Enlightenment (E17), and as of early 2019, Trisquel 8.0 ("Flidas") with its Mate desktop.
